As a Truck Driver, you will be responsible for the following: 1. Safe and Efficient Operation: Safely operate a variety of commercial vehicles, including tractor-trailers, flatbed trucks, or delivery vans, depending on the specific job requirements. Adhere to all traffic laws, regulations, and company policies to ensure the safe and timely delivery of goods. 2. Load and Unload: Safely load, secure, and unload cargo using proper techniques and equipment. Verify the accuracy of shipping documents and ensure that all goods are accounted for during the loading and unloading process. 3. Route Planning and Navigation: Plan efficient routes to maximize productivity and ensure on-time deliveries. Utilize navigation tools and maps to navigate unfamiliar areas and avoid traffic congestion or road hazards. 4. Vehicle Maintenance: Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure the proper functioning and safety of the vehicle. Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as checking fluid levels, tire pressure, and conducting minor repairs when necessary. Report any vehicle issues or malfunctions promptly. 5. Documentation and Communication: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of mileage, fuel consumption, and delivery details. Complete all required paperwork, including bills of lading, delivery receipts, and expense reports. Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and warehouse personnel to provide status updates and resolve any issues that may arise during the transportation process. 6. Time Management: Manage time effectively to meet delivery deadlines and customer expectations. Plan and schedule routes efficiently, considering factors such as traffic conditions, weather conditions, and customer requirements. 7. Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service by delivering goods in a professional and courteous manner. Interact with customers in a friendly and respectful manner, addressing any concerns or inquiries they may have. 8. Compliance and Safety: Adhere to all federal, provincial, and local regulations pertaining to transportation, including hours-of-service regulations and weight restrictions. Follow proper procedures for handling hazardous materials, if applicable. Maintain a high level of safety awareness and promote a safe working environment. Requirements: - Valid Class 1 or Class A driver's license with a clean driving record. - Proven experience as a Truck Driver, preferably in a similar role or industry. - Knowledge of trucking regulations and safety protocols. - Physical stamina and ability to handle heavy loads and long hours on the road. - Excellent navigation and map-reading skills. - Strong communication and interpersonal skills. - Attention to detail and accuracy in completing documentation. - Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
