As a Tourism & Hospitality Expert, your skills and responsibilities will include: Guest Experience: Create exceptional guest experiences by providing personalized service and ensuring customer satisfaction. Welcome guests, assist with check-ins and check-outs, and address any inquiries or concerns promptly and professionally. Destination Knowledge: Possess a comprehensive understanding of the local attractions, landmarks, and activities in Auckland and the surrounding areas. Offer recommendations and advice to guests, helping them make the most of their visit and create lasting memories. Customer Service: Demonstrate outstanding customer service skills, anticipating guests' needs and going above and beyond to exceed their expectations. Handle guest complaints or issues effectively, finding swift resolutions to ensure a positive experience. Reservation Management: Manage reservations and bookings, ensuring accuracy and efficiency. Coordinate with other departments to ensure seamless transitions and guest satisfaction. Tour Guiding: Conduct informative and engaging tours of local attractions or cultural sites. Share historical and cultural insights, answer questions, and ensure the safety and enjoyment of tour participants. Event Planning and Coordination: Assist with planning and organizing events, conferences, or special occasions hosted by the establishment. Coordinate with vendors, manage logistics, and ensure smooth execution to deliver memorable experiences. Food and Beverage Service: Possess knowledge of food and beverage service standards. Assist with serving meals, beverages, and snacks, ensuring quality and guest satisfaction. Sales and Up-Selling: Promote additional services, products, or upgrades to enhance the guest experience and increase revenue. Utilize persuasive and consultative selling techniques while maintaining a customer-centric approach. Cash Handling and Point of Sale (POS) Systems: Handle cash transactions accurately and securely. Familiarity with POS systems and the ability to operate them efficiently is essential. Health and Safety Compliance: Adhere to health and safety protocols and regulations to maintain a safe environment for both guests and staff members. Follow emergency procedures and ensure guests are informed of safety guidelines. Requirements: Relevant qualifications in tourism, hospitality, or a related field are preferred. Proven experience in the tourism and hospitality industry, demonstrating a strong understanding of customer service principles. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with a diverse range of individuals. Passion for the tourism industry and a genuine interest in creating memorable experiences for guests. Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to multitask effectively. Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays, as per operational requirements. Proficiency in reservation management systems, point of sale systems, and other relevant software. Knowledge of health and safety regulations and the ability to handle emergency situations calmly and effectively. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle guest complaints or issues with professionalism and empathy.
