Stand Manager

Wisepress is an exhibition-based medical bookseller, going to 150+ events a year. We have a number of events every year and are looking for someone local to manage our stands on an ongoing basis. The areas we are looking to cover are; Paris, Berlin, Stockholm and Copenhagen The work will involve the set up and dismantling of our book stand, a physical task that includes lifting heavy boxes of books. You will be in charge of running the stand during the open period, which will involve interacting with delegates proficiently, representing our company in a professional manner, and processing/reconciliation of the book sales. Paid training onsite will be provided. Generally the expectation is to shadow an experienced stand manager for one or two events before taking on meetings solo. The meetings are international events with English as the common language, so a high standard of spoken English is essential. Any additional languages are helpful. Each event represents 3 to 5 consecutive days’ work, and are scheduled at least 3-4 months ahead. We find this role particularly suits people who already engage primarily in freelance work and can adjust their schedules to incorporate the dates. Mature students or recent retirees have also found it suits them.
