As a Retail Assistant, your responsibilities will include: Customer Service: Greeting customers, assisting with inquiries, and providing helpful and friendly service throughout their shopping experience. Understanding customer needs, recommending products, and offering product knowledge to enhance customer satisfaction. Sales Support: Assisting with sales activities, including product demonstrations, promotions, and upselling opportunities. Ensuring product displays are visually appealing, well-stocked, and organized to attract customers. Cash Handling: Operating cash registers and handling cash transactions accurately. Processing payments, issuing receipts, and providing change to customers. Following cash handling procedures and reconciling cash at the end of each shift. Stock Management: Receiving and unpacking merchandise, checking for quality and accuracy, and ensuring items are properly tagged and displayed. Restocking shelves and maintaining inventory levels to meet customer demands. Store Maintenance: Keeping the store clean, tidy, and presentable at all times. Monitoring and replenishing supplies, such as shopping bags, price tags, and promotional materials. Assisting with light cleaning tasks, such as sweeping, dusting, and organizing. Product Knowledge: Developing a deep understanding of the store's products and services. Staying up-to-date with product features, pricing, and promotions to provide accurate information to customers and facilitate sales. Team Collaboration: Working collaboratively with team members and supervisors to achieve store goals and targets. Assisting colleagues during busy periods and offering support as needed. Sharing feedback, ideas, and suggestions to improve overall store operations. Adherence to Policies: Following company policies, procedures, and guidelines related to customer service, sales, security, and health and safety. Maintaining a high level of professionalism and integrity in all interactions. Requirements: Previous experience in a customer service or retail role is preferred but not essential. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Strong customer focus and the ability to provide exceptional service. Enthusiasm for retail and a passion for staying up-to-date with current trends and products. Attention to detail and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic. Basic math skills for cash handling and transactions. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
