Job Description
Our client, a growing accounting firm in San Jose, is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Accounts Specialist to join their team.
Responsibilities:
-Process bi-weekly, semi-monthly, and monthly payrolls for multiple clients
-Ensure accurate and timely processing of employee timecards, overtime, and vacation accruals
-Process payroll adjustments, bonuses, and commissions
-Process new hires, terminations, and employee changes
-Respond to employee payroll-related inquiries
-Prepare and reconcile payroll tax filings, including W-2s and 1099s
-Ensure compliance with all federal and state payroll tax regulations
-Update and maintain payroll records and reports
-Collaborate with team members to identify and implement process improvements
Qualifications:
-Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field preferred
-3+ years of payroll processing experience required
-Knowledge of federal and state payroll tax regulations
-Proficient in Microsoft Excel and payroll software (ADP or Paychex)
-Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment
-Excellent written and verbal communication skills
-Ability to work independently and as part of a team
-Experience with multi-state payroll processing preferred
