Gaffer (Freelance) Location: Cork, Ireland Are you a skilled Gaffer with experience in film production? Our client, a leading film production company based in Cork, is seeking a talented and experienced Gaffer to join their team on a freelance basis. As the Gaffer, you will be responsible for managing the electrical and lighting departments during film production, ensuring that all lighting and electrical requirements are met to achieve the desired visual effects for each scene. Responsibilities: Collaborate with the Director of Photography and the film crew to understand the lighting requirements for each scene Set up and maintain lighting equipment and cables to ensure that all lighting requirements are met Ensure the safety of the crew and actors by managing electrical hazards and adhering to safety regulations Collaborate with the lighting team to create a specific mood or atmosphere for each scene Manage the power distribution on set and ensure that all electrical requirements are met Work closely with the grip department to achieve the desired visual effects for each scene Troubleshoot any technical issues that may arise during production and resolve them in a timely manner Requirements: At least 3 years of experience as a Gaffer in film production Strong knowledge of electrical and lighting equipment and their uses Excellent communication and teamwork skills Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines Understanding of safety regulations and ability to manage electrical hazards Creative problem-solving skills and ability to think on your feet Flexible schedule and ability to work long hours when necessary If you are a skilled Gaffer looking for an exciting new opportunity to work with a leading film production company in Cork, then we encourage you to apply for this freelance role today.
