As a Farm Hand, you will play an essential role in supporting the daily operations of the farm, ensuring that crops are grown, animals are cared for, and the farm functions smoothly.
Responsibilities:
1. Crop Maintenance: Assist in planting, harvesting, and maintaining crops. This includes activities such as preparing the soil, planting seeds, watering, weeding, and applying fertilizers or pesticides as directed.
2. Livestock Care: Support the care and management of farm animals, including feeding, watering, and ensuring their overall welfare. You may be involved in tasks such as milking cows, shearing sheep, or assisting with the birthing process.
3. Equipment Operation: Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment, such as tractors, harvesters, and irrigation systems. Basic knowledge of machinery operation and maintenance is desirable, but training can be provided.
4. Farm Infrastructure: Assist in the construction, repair, and maintenance of farm infrastructure, including fences, sheds, and irrigation systems. Basic carpentry or plumbing skills would be advantageous.
5. General Farm Duties: Perform various tasks as required, such as cleaning and maintaining farm buildings, organizing tools and equipment, and participating in farm-related projects or events.
6. Health and Safety Compliance: Follow all health and safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others. Adhere to guidelines for the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and the proper handling of hazardous substances.
7. Team Collaboration: Work closely with other farm staff and follow instructions from farm managers or supervisors. Effective communication and teamwork are essential to ensure the smooth running of farm operations.
8. Adaptable Nature: Be flexible and adaptable to changing farm needs and seasonal demands. Farm work may vary throughout the year, requiring you to switch between different tasks and responsibilities.
Skills and Requirements:
