Job Description
Are you an experienced construction estimator looking for a new challenge? Our client, a leading construction company in Kyoto, Japan, is currently seeking a skilled Construction Estimator to join their team on a full-time basis.
As a Construction Estimator, you will be responsible for evaluating construction costs by analyzing project plans and specifications to determine the overall cost of materials, equipment, and labor. You will also be responsible for preparing estimates and budgets for potential construction projects, negotiating with suppliers, and ensuring projects are delivered within budget and on time.
To be successful in this role, you should have a solid understanding of construction materials and methods, as well as experience in construction project management. A degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a related field is also preferred. In addition, you should possess excellent analytical and organizational skills, as well as the ability to work well under pressure.
Responsibilities:
Analyze project plans and specifications to determine construction costs
Prepare estimates and budgets for potential construction projects
Negotiate with suppliers to ensure competitive pricing
Work closely with project managers to ensure projects are delivered within budget and on time
Keep up-to-date with the latest construction materials and methods
Monitor the progress of ongoing construction projects and adjust budgets as necessary
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a related field preferred
Proven experience as a construction estimator
Strong analytical and organizational skills
Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines
Excellent communication and negotiation skills
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other relevant software
