Job Description
Our client, a renowned theater company, is seeking a talented Costume Designer to join their team as a full-time employee. As a Costume Designer, you will be responsible for creating and overseeing the design, production, and maintenance of costumes for all productions.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate with directors, performers, and other members of the production team to develop and execute costume designs that align with the vision of the production
Create sketches, renderings, and storyboards to communicate your design ideas
Source and purchase fabrics, materials, and accessories for costumes within budget constraints
Supervise the construction and fitting of costumes, ensuring quality and accuracy of design
Manage costume inventory and coordinate costume maintenance, repairs, and cleaning
Work with hair and makeup teams to ensure that costumes, hair, and makeup work together seamlessly
Attend rehearsals and performances to oversee costume changes and make any necessary adjustments
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design, Costume Design, or related field
At least 5 years of experience in costume design and production
Strong design skills with a keen eye for detail
Proficient in sketching, rendering, and creating storyboards to communicate design concepts
Knowledge of costume construction techniques and materials
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with a variety of stakeholders
Passion for the performing arts and a desire to contribute to the success of a renowned theater company
