Are you a skilled and experienced Construction Worker looking for a full-time opportunity in the vibrant city of Christchurch? Our leading client, a well-established construction company, is currently seeking dedicated individuals to join their team as Full-time Construction Workers. If you have a strong work ethic, excellent craftsmanship, and a commitment to safety, this position offers stability and growth prospects in the construction industry. As a Full-time Construction Worker, your skills and responsibilities will include: Construction Site Preparation: Assist in the preparation of construction sites by clearing debris, setting up barricades, and erecting temporary structures. Follow safety protocols and ensure a clean and organized work environment. Material Handling: Receive and unload construction materials, tools, and equipment. Safely transport and distribute materials throughout the site, following proper lifting and handling techniques. Equipment Operation: Operate construction equipment, such as forklifts, skid steers, or small machinery, under supervision and according to safety guidelines. Perform routine maintenance and inspections of equipment. Construction Tasks: Perform various construction tasks, including digging trenches, pouring concrete, installing framework, and assembling structural components. Follow blueprints, diagrams, and instructions to ensure accurate and precise construction work. Carpentry and Masonry: Assist in carpentry and masonry work, including framing, roofing, flooring, and bricklaying. Use hand and power tools effectively and safely to complete assigned tasks. Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and regulations at all times. Identify and report potential hazards or risks on the construction site. Use personal protective equipment (PPE) and encourage a culture of safety among team members. Collaboration: Work collaboratively with the construction team, including supervisors, contractors, and fellow workers. Follow instructions, communicate effectively, and contribute to a positive and productive work environment. Quality Assurance: Ensure construction work meets quality standards and specifications. Inspect completed work for defects, deficiencies, or deviations from plans. Make necessary adjustments or repairs as required. Time and Resource Management: Complete assigned tasks within specified deadlines and budgets. Optimize the use of resources, minimize waste, and contribute to project efficiency. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of work performed, including daily logs, progress reports, and material usage. Assist in the completion of project documentation as required. Requirements: Proven experience as a Construction Worker, preferably in a full-time capacity. Solid understanding of construction techniques, tools, and materials. Proficiency in performing construction tasks, such as carpentry, masonry, concrete work, or general labor. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and construction plans. Knowledge of safety regulations and practices in the construction industry. Physically fit and capable of performing manual labor in various weather conditions. Strong work ethic, reliability, and the ability to work effectively in a team. Good communication skills and the ability to follow instructions. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to the construction site. Relevant certifications or trade qualifications are a plus.
