Responsibilities:
1. Assisting with Daily Activities: You will support the implementation of age-appropriate activities and programs designed to promote the physical, cognitive, social, and emotional development of children. 3. Personal Care: You will assist children with daily routines such as toileting, diapering, dressing, and feeding. You will provide gentle guidance and support, encouraging children to develop independence and self-help skills.
4. Communication and Collaboration: Effective communication with children, their families, and your colleagues is essential. You will maintain open and positive communication, sharing information about children's progress, needs, and any concerns with appropriate staff members.
5. Environment Maintenance: You will contribute to maintaining a clean, organized, and welcoming environment for children. This includes setting up and tidying play areas, sanitizing toys and equipment, and ensuring the overall cleanliness and safety of the facility.
6. Record-Keeping: You will assist in maintaining accurate records and documentation, such as attendance records, incident reports, and daily observations of children's activities and progress.
Skills and Requirements:
- Genuine love and enthusiasm for working with children, with a compassionate and nurturing nature.
- Basic understanding of child development principles and early childhood education.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with children, families, and colleagues.
- Patience, flexibility, and the ability to adapt to the changing needs and dynamics of a childcare setting.
- Strong observational skills to monitor children's behavior, needs, and progress.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, following the direction of senior staff and contributing to a positive work environment.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Completion of relevant qualifications such as a Certificate III or Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care is advantageous but not essential.
- Valid Working with Children Check or willingness to obtain one.
